“We really wanted to do it in a big way and we felt that a partnership with Make-A-Wish Foundation was the right fit. “It’s important because it’s part of the tribe’s values to give back to the community,” Alejandre said. “Me and my grandma would love to see the lions and all of the different big cats and reptiles,” Lily said when asked by Alejandre which animals she was most eager to work with.Īlejandre said the charity grants wishes to six kids every year and has raised a total of nearly $150,000 to go toward the Make-A-Wish Foundation during the event’s first three years.
